What this bill would do

This bill, known as the ``Foreign Service Age and Integration and Reform (FAIR) Act of 2026'', aims to change the mandatory retirement age for the Foreign Service. It proposes to raise the retirement age from 65 to either age 67 or the applicable retirement age as defined in the Social Security Act, whichever is greater. This change would align the Foreign Service retirement age with the Social Security Full Retirement Age. The bill was introduced by Mr. Olszewski and Mr. Lawler.
