What this bill would do
The Truman Scholarship Clean House Act seeks to amend the Harry S Truman Memorial Scholarship Act. It introduces a new definition for what it means to be "affiliated with" a political party. The bill restructures the Board of Trustees, establishing a specific 13-member composition and a process for dissolving the existing board. It also updates eligibility requirements for students and the criteria used by Regional Review Panels. Furthermore, the bill establishes rules for the termination of scholarships and defines the service terms for the Executive Secretary. Finally, it adds new transparency requirements for the Foundation's published materials.
