What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "Safe Flights for Passengers and Flight Crews Act," directs the FAA Administrator to change how certain charter operations are regulated. It targets passenger-carrying scheduled charter operations that use aircraft with more than 9 passenger seats. These operations would no longer be eligible for on-demand eligibility under part 380 of title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Instead, they would be regulated as domestic or flag operations under part 121. The new requirements are set to take effect 90 days after the bill is enacted.
