What this bill would do
The Vets Connect Act directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to create a secure database and messaging platform called the "Vets Connect System." This system is designed to allow veterans to find and reconnect with others they served with. The platform will focus on service-based matching using information like branch of service, units, and dates of service. To protect privacy, the system will not disclose personal contact information unless a veteran specifically authorizes it. Access to the system is strictly limited to individuals whose military service has been verified.
