What this bill would do
This bill, titled the ``Veterans with ALS Reporting Act'', requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit a report to Congress regarding amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in veterans. The report must include an assessment of the incidence and prevalence of the disease among veterans. It also requires a description of current resources and any existing deficiencies in support. Additionally, the Secretary must develop strategies for risk reduction and pathways for veterans to participate in clinical trials and research. The Secretary is also tasked with tracking the prevalence of ALS using the CDC's registry and biorepository. Updates to this report are required every three years.
