What this bill would do
This bill seeks to authorize the extension of normal trade relations treatment to products from specific countries. It allows the President to determine when certain trade restrictions should no longer apply to a "covered country." Once this determination is made, the President can proclaim the extension of nondiscriminatory treatment to those products. This action would cause Title IV of the Trade Act of 1974 to cease applying to the specific country. Under this bill, a "covered country" includes any nation except for Belarus, Cuba, and North Korea.
