What this bill would do
This bill is called the No Tricks on Treats Act of 2025. It changes the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The bill makes certain foods count as misbranded if they contain specific ingredients. These ingredients include synthetic dyes, added artificial or natural flavoring, and nonnutritive sweeteners. For these foods to avoid being labeled as misbranded, the packaging must state this fact prominently on the principal display panel. Dietary supplements are excluded from these specific rules.
