What this bill would do
This bill is known as the Federal Government Advertising Equity Accountability Act. It requires a report on expenditures for contracts for advertising services. Specifically, it amends section 1105(a) of title 31, United States Code. Executive agencies must report what they spent in the prior fiscal year on advertising contracts. They must also break down how much of that money went to socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses, as well as women- and minority-owned businesses. Furthermore, agencies must provide estimated expenditures for these same advertising categories for the upcoming fiscal year. These reporting rules apply starting with the fiscal year 2027 budget submission and for each fiscal year after that.
