What this bill would do

This bill, known as the "CLEAR ID Act," restricts how the Department of Homeland Security uses federal funds for civil immigration enforcement. It prohibits officers from conducting these actions while wearing masks or facial coverings that hide their identity. Officers must also clearly identify themselves both verbally and visibly through agency identification, a badge, and a uniform. Additionally, any vehicle used for these operations must clearly display the name of the agency involved. Exceptions are made for medical necessity or approved undercover operations.
