What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "Protect Our TEETH Act," seeks to amend the Safe Drinking Water Act. It directs the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to seek an agreement with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. This agreement would involve a rapid response evidence review regarding proposed rules for fluoride. The review process would occur before the publication of proposed rules regarding fluoride's maximum contaminant level goal or maximum contaminant level. The results of these reviews must be considered by the Administrator and published in the Federal Register.
