What this bill would do
The Agricultural Emergency Relief Act of 2025 requires the Secretary of Agriculture to establish a program providing payments to producers facing crop losses due to disasters. These disasters include events such as droughts, wildfires, hurricanes, and freezes. Producers must apply to the Secretary to demonstrate they have experienced a qualified loss. To receive payments, producers are required to purchase Federal Crop Insurance or the Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program for the next two years. Payment amounts are determined through indemnity-based or revenue-based calculations. The Act authorizes necessary appropriations for fiscal years 2025 through 2030.
