What this bill would do
This bill, titled the ``Freedom to Frack Act'', directs the Secretary of Energy to restrict certain grants. It targets any State that has a law in effect prohibiting hydraulic fracturing. The legislation seeks to amend the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. Specifically, it would make a State ineligible for a grant under the program if that State establishes or continues to enforce a prohibition on hydraulic fracturing.
