What this bill would do

This bill, known as the "Livestock Indemnity Program Enhancement Act of 2025," seeks to amend the Agricultural Act of 2014. It proposes to establish additional payments for unborn livestock under the existing livestock indemnity payment program. These payments would apply to death losses incurred on or after January 1, 2025. The Secretary would provide these additional payments to eligible producers who experience losses exceeding normal mortality. Specific payment rates and amounts would be determined by the Secretary and the Administrator of the Farm Service Agency.
