What this bill would do
This bill, titled the "Readiness Over Wokeness Act," seeks to prohibit individuals with gender dysphoria from serving in the Armed Forces. It specifically bans those with a current diagnosis, a history of the condition, or symptoms consistent with it from serving. The bill also prohibits those with a history of gender affirming care, such as hormone therapy or surgery, from service. If a member is prohibited, the Secretary concerned must administratively discharge them. Additionally, the bill mandates security clearance reinvestigations for those discharged.
