What this bill would do
This bill authorizes the White House Task Force on Celebrating America's 250th Birthday to establish the National Garden of American Heroes. The Task Force is responsible for all aspects of the Garden, including planning, design, and land acquisition. Construction is intended to begin by July 4, 2026, following approval of the location by the Secretary of the Interior. To fund this project, a "National Garden Fund" will be established in the Treasury to hold private contributions and other funds. The bill also allows for the collection of visitation fees if maintenance funds are insufficient. Finally, the bill requires regular reports to Congress regarding the establishment and maintenance of the Garden.
