What this bill would do
The SCHOOL Act of 2025 aims to allow Federal education funds to follow individual students to their chosen place of learning. This includes funds currently allocated under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Funding would be directed to public schools, private schools, or home schools, whether the student is learning in person or remotely. For students in private or home schools, funds would be distributed through education savings accounts. State educational agencies would be responsible for creating a plan where parents or guardians notify the relevant agency of the child's enrollment status annually.
