What this bill would do
This act, known as the "Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act of 2025," creates a program for federal law enforcement officers. The Administrator of General Services is required to establish a program within one year of enactment. This program allows federal law enforcement officers to purchase retired firearms from the agency that issued them. To qualify, the purchase must occur within six months of the firearm being retired. Officers must also be in good standing with their employing or former employing agency. Firearms are to be sold at their salvage value based on age and condition.
