What this bill would do
This bill is known as the Protecting Veteran Access to Telemedicine Services Act of 2025. It allows certain health care professionals employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs to deliver, distribute, or dispense certain controlled medications to veterans via telemedicine. This can happen without the health care professional conducting an in-person medical examination of the patient first. The professional must be authorized to prescribe the substance under an active, current, full, and unrestricted State license, registration, or certification. They must also be acting in the usual course of professional practice for a legitimate medical purpose. The Secretary must establish regulations, guidelines, and a process for this delivery, distribution, and dispensation.
