What this bill would do
This bill is known as the SBA Spanish Resource Report Act. It requires the Administrator of the Small Business Administration to submit a report within 180 days of the Act's enactment. The report must describe existing Spanish-language resources and services made available through the Administration's programs. This includes an inventory of resources, a description of partner resources, usage data, spending descriptions, administrative considerations, and recommendations. The report must be made publicly available online, and a briefing must be provided to specific congressional committees within 30 days of the report's submission.

Potential Positive Impacts for People
-
Section 2(c): This section requires the report to be submitted in unclassified form and made publicly available on a website of the Administration. This is a positive outcome because it keeps the people informed about what Spanish-language resources and services are currently available.
-
Section 2(b)(1): This provision requires an inventory of existing Spanish-language informational resources and services, including websites, application materials, guidance documents, outreach materials, and customer service resources. This could benefit people by providing clear visibility into the specific tools available to Spanish speakers.
Potential Negative Impacts for People
- Section 2(e): This section states that nothing in the Act shall be construed to require the Administrator to establish, expand, reduce, or discontinue any Spanish-language resource or service. This might be seen as a negative or a limitation by people who are hoping the bill would actively create new Spanish-language resources or fix existing gaps in services.
