What this amendment would do
-
The amendment allows colleges, athletic conferences, or associations to set and enforce a maximum limit on the total coaching pay for any varsity sports team.
-
It gives conferences and athletic associations the power to punish member schools that go over this coaching pay limit by using financial penalties, postseason restrictions, or taking away conference media revenue.
-
It defines total coaching pay to include the total financial value of everything provided directly or indirectly to a head coach, assistant coach, or general manager, which covers base salary, performance bonuses, pay from collectives or associated entities, apparel or media contract fees, and non-monetary benefits.
