What this amendment would do
Ms. Slotkin submitted this amendment to set up a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to protecting Americans from terrorism.
The Purpose and Changes
The purpose of the amendment is to allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to change budget allocations and make adjustments for legislation related to protecting families in the United States from terrorism.
This may include legislation that prohibits the use of taxpayer dollars to reassign Federal agents, officers, analysts, and prosecutors focusing on either foreign or domestic terrorism to other purposes.
To make this happen, the legislation cannot increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
