What this amendment would do

SA 6550, submitted by Mr. Thune, aims to add a section to bill S. 4784 regarding the authorization of appropriations for fiscal year 2027.

The purpose of this amendment is to:

  • Authorize $50,000,000 for the Department of the Air Force to be used for counter unmanned systems for the defense of strategic assets.

  • Reduce the amount authorized for the Defense-wide working capital fund by $50,000,000 to offset the cost.
