S.Amdt. 6280

SA 6280, submitted by Mr. Husted, aims to add a new section to bill S. 4784. This addition would allow the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to lease real property at the Glenn Research Center in Ohio to the Ohio Aerospace Institute.

The purpose of this lease, which can last up to 99 years and be renewable, is to allow the Ohio Aerospace Institute to operate or build facilities for:

• Conduct of aeronautical and space research
• Education and training of aeronautical and space engineers
• Protection of national security
• Transfer of aeronautical and space technology between the United States public and private sectors

Additionally, the amendment allows the NASA Administrator to enter into agreements to lease facilities owned by the Ohio Aerospace Institute, provide various types of support to the institute, and procure services from it for the same purposes listed above.
