What this amendment would do

SA 6176, submitted by Mrs. Capito, Mr. Husted, and Mr. Moran, aims to change the bill S. 4784.

The purpose of this amendment is the repeal of modification to definition of adjusted taxable income for purposes of the limitation on business interest.

Specifically, it intends to:

  • Amend Section 163(j)(8)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 by inserting "and" at the end of clause (iv).
  • Strike clause (vi) of the same section.

These changes apply to taxable years that begin after December 31, 2025.
