What this amendment would do

This amendment submitted by Mr. Kaine proposes two main changes to bill S. 2:

  • It prohibits the Department of Justice from implementing the settlement agreement announced on May 18, 2026, which establishes the Anti-Weaponization Fund.

  • It provides an additional appropriation of $1,776,000,000 for fiscal year 2026 to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program.
