What this amendment would do

SA 5589, submitted by Mr. Kaine, aims to add a new section to bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to prohibit the use of funds from the Act to carry out immigration enforcement actions involving more than ten individuals, unless U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection do the following:

Inform local law enforcement agencies in the jurisdictions where the actions will occur.
Deconflict with those local law enforcement agencies.
