What this amendment would do

SA 5518, submitted by Ms. Cortez Masto, aims to add a new section to title II of bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to prohibit the use of funds to allow Department of Homeland Security officers or employees to enter a home unless there is:

Consent
A warrant issued by a neutral and detached judicial officer
Exigent circumstances

This is to be done in accordance with the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States and other applicable laws.
