SA 5516, submitted by Ms. Cortez Masto, aims to add a new section to title II of bill S. 2.

The purpose of this amendment is to prohibit the use of funds from that title to detain or remove the following people:

Victims of domestic violence
Crime victims

This protection applies if the individual has an application for relief that is currently pending with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services or is at any stage of the appeal process.
