What this amendment would do

SA 5392, submitted by Mr. PETERS, aims to add a section titled "SUPERMAJORITY ENFORCEMENT OF UNFUNDED MANDATES IN THE SENATE" to title IV of the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 33.

The purpose of this amendment is to change how certain parts of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974 are handled in the Senate. Specifically, it seeks to make paragraphs (1) and (2) of section 425(a) subject to:

  • Waiver requirements under subsection (c)(2) of section 904.
  • Appeal requirements under subsection (d)(3) of section 904.
