What this amendment would do
SA 5369, submitted by Mr. REED, aims to add a section to the end of title III of S. Con. Res. 33.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund to:
- Restore Medicaid funding.
- Prevent a reduction in enrollment or benefits for people enrolled in Medicaid, including:
- Seniors
- Children
- Families
- Individuals with disability
- Veterans
- Military families
This would allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to adjust budget levels and the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation related to these goals, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit between fiscal years 2026 through 2035.
