What this amendment would do

SA 5329, submitted by Mr. HEINRICH, aims to add a section to the end of title III of S. Con. Res. 33.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund for Tribal historic preservation offices.

It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:

  • Revise allocations of committees or committees, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
  • Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for specific legislative actions, such as bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference reports.

This is permitted for the purpose of providing additional funding for Tribal historic preservation offices, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit between fiscal years 2026 through 2035.
