What this amendment would do

SA 5299, submitted by Ms. CANTWELL, aims to add a new section to title IV of S. Con. Res. 33.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Congressional Budget Office to create a report. This report must:

  • Calculate and analyze the cost to families in the United States due to increased gas prices since February 28, 2026.
  • Be submitted to Congress and made publicly available within 30 days after the resolution is adopted.
