What this amendment would do

SA 5298, submitted by Ms. Cantwell, aims to add a new section to title IV of the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 33.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Congressional Budget Office to create and publicly release a report within 30 days of the resolution being agreed to.

The report intends to make the funding for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection during the 119th Congress easier to understand. It will do this by:

  • Equating those funding amounts to the number of days programs funded by the Highway Trust Fund could be funded if an equal amount of money were deposited into that fund.
