What this amendment would do

SA 5280, submitted by Ms. Hassan, is an amendment to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 33. This resolution sets the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2026 and establishes budgetary levels for fiscal years 2027 through 2035.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a requirement at the end of section 2002 regarding the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

The amendment aims to add the following:

  • The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs must report changes in laws within its jurisdiction that increase the deficit by no more than $10,000,000,000 for the period of fiscal years 2026 through 2035.
