What this amendment would do

SA 5278, submitted by Ms. Hassan, aims to change the following in S. Con. Res. 33:

  • Change the amount of $70,000,000,000 to $60,000,000,000 on page 46, line 13.

  • Add a requirement that the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs of the Senate report law changes in its jurisdiction that increase the deficit by no more than $10,000,000,000 for fiscal years 2026 through 2035.
