What this amendment would do
SA 5197, submitted by Mr. Welch, aims to add a section to title III of S. Con. Res. 33.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund regarding the misuse of Government property.
Specifically, it allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make budget adjustments for legislation that may require the Federal Bureau of Investigation to provide a list of all flights taken by Kash Patel, including:
- The date of each flight
- The passengers
- The purpose of each flight
This is provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit between fiscal years 2026 and 2035.
