What this amendment would do
SA 5185, submitted by Mr. Warnock, aims to add a section to title IV of the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 33.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a point of order in the Senate. This would prevent the consideration of any:
- Bill
- Joint resolution
- Motion
- Amendment
- Amendment between the Houses
- Conference report
That would allow funds to be used for the expansion, renovation, construction, or acquisition of any warehouse detention facility operated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The amendment also specifies that this point of order can only be waived, suspended, or appealed through an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members of the Senate who are duly chosen and sworn.
