What this amendment would do
SA 5076, submitted by Mr. Lujan, aims to add a section to title III of S. Con. Res. 33.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund focused on enhancing fentanyl interdiction efforts.
It would allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:
- Revise allocations of committees or committees.
- Revise aggregates and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for specific bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference reports.
These changes can be made for legislation relating to enhancing fentanyl interdiction efforts, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2026 through 2035.
