What this amendment would do
SA 5070, submitted by Mr. LUJAN, aims to add a section to S. Con. Res. 33 regarding a deficit-neutral reserve fund focused on reducing exploitative junk fees.
The purpose of this amendment is to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:
- Revise allocations of committees or committees, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for specific bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports that relate to reducing exploitative junk fees.
This is permitted as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit between fiscal years 2026 through 2035.
