What this amendment would do
SA 5058, submitted by Mr. Lujan, aims to add a section to title III of S. Con. Res. 33. This resolution sets the congressional budget for fiscal year 2026 and the budgetary levels for fiscal years 2027 through 2035.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund for housing for all Native Americans. It would allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to:
- Revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels in the resolution.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These changes apply to bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference reports regarding housing for all Native Americans, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2026 through 2035.
