What this amendment would do

SA 5048, submitted by Mr. Lujan, aims to add a section to title IV of S. Con. Res. 33.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a point of order in the Senate against any bill, joint resolution, motion, amendment, amendment between the Houses, or conference report that fails to provide at least $8,500,000,000 in annual funding for employees of the Transportation Security Administration.

To waive or suspend this point of order, or to sustain an appeal of the Chair's ruling on it, an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members of the Senate is required.
