What this amendment would do

SA 5038, submitted by Mr. Reed, aims to add a section to title IV of S. Con. Res. 33.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a point of order in the Senate. This would prevent the consideration of any conference report, amendment, motion, joint resolution, or bill that provides funding for event space or new Federal monuments in Washington, D.C. that Congress has not authorized.

To waive or suspend this rule, or to sustain an appeal of the Chair's ruling on this point of order, an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members of the Senate is required.
