What this amendment would do

The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund to increase funding for specific service areas within the Indian Health Service.

The service areas included are:

Alaska
Albuquerque
Bemidji
Billings
California
Great Plains
Nashville
Navajo
Oklahoma
Phoenix
Portland
Tucson

This change allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to adjust budget allocations, aggregates, and the pay-as-you-go ledger for related legislation, provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit between fiscal years 2026 through 2035.
