What this amendment would do
SA 5007, submitted by Mr. Bennet, aims to add a section to title III of S. Con. Res. 33.
This amendment creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund focused on prohibiting actions that would increase retail gasoline prices in the United States.
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:
- Revise allocations of committees or committees.
- Revise aggregates and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These changes apply to bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference reports regarding the prohibition of actions that increase retail gasoline prices, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2026 through 2035.
