What this amendment would do

SA 4941, submitted by Mr. Van Hollen, aims to add a section to title IV of the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 33.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a point of order in the Senate. This would prevent the consideration of any:

  • Bill
  • Joint resolution
  • Motion
  • Amendment
  • Amendment between the Houses
  • Conference report

That would provide funding to Federal agencies involved in the expungement of convictions for individuals convicted of assaulting law enforcement officers or seditious conspiracy on or related to January 6, 2021.

To waive or suspend this point of order, or to sustain an appeal of the Chair's ruling, an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members of the Senate is required.
