What this amendment would do

SA 4939, submitted by Mr. VAN HOLLEN, aims to add a section to title IV of S. Con. Res. 33.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a point of order in the Senate against any action that uses funds to cancel clean energy projects. This includes:

  • Refunds on lease areas.
  • Remand or cancellation of Federal permits.

To waive or suspend this rule, or to sustain an appeal of the Chair's ruling, an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members of the Senate is required.
