What this amendment would do
SA 4903, submitted by Mr. HEINRICH, is an amendment to S. Con. Res. 33. This resolution sets the congressional budget for fiscal year 2026 and budgetary levels for fiscal years 2027 through 2035.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a section called "Point of Order Against Reconciliation Legislation That Would Make Taxpayer Dollars Available to Invade Greenland."
It aims to change the bill by adding the following:
-
It prevents the Senate from considering certain bills, joint resolutions, amendments, or conference reports that would use taxpayer money to invade Greenland.
-
It requires a vote of three-fifths of the Members of the Senate to waive or suspend this rule, or to sustain an appeal of the Chair's ruling regarding this point of order.
