What this amendment would do
SA 4900, submitted by Mr. HEINRICH, aims to add a section to title III of S. Con. Res. 33.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund specifically for lowering health care costs for American families.
It would allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:
- Revise allocations of committees or committees, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for various legislative actions, such as bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference reports.
These changes are permitted as long as the legislation for lowering health care costs does not increase the deficit between fiscal years 2026 through 2035.
