What this amendment would do

SA 4899, submitted by Mr. HEINRICH, aims to add a section to S. Con. Res. 33 regarding a deficit-neutral reserve fund for Tribal housing programs.

The purpose of this amendment is to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:

  • Revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels in the resolution.
  • Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation, amendments, or reports related to robust funding for Tribal housing programs.

This is permitted as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit for the fiscal years 2026 through 2035.
