What this amendment would do
SA 4888, submitted by Ms. ROSEN, is an amendment to S. Con. Res. 33. This resolution sets the congressional budget for fiscal year 2026 and budgetary levels for fiscal years 2027 through 2035.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the end of title III.
This addition aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:
- Revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels in the resolution.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These actions apply to legislation, such as bills or amendments, that relate to prohibiting the imposition of tariffs that would increase housing costs. This is allowed as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2026 through 2035.
